I bought a copy of The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent by Esther & Jerry Hicks recently. My attempts to understand a lot of what is in this book requires concentration and so far, I'm not sure I agree with all that I have read. That said, one thing did jump out at me in the Preface written by Jerry about understanding that you create your own truth. I'll paraphrase some of what he said.
"Truths are but beliefs that have been held for a time, and beliefs are but thoughts that have been held over a period of time."
This I can agree with. Stop and think about negative thoughts that were implanted in you by others, some of which began in childhood. You're not pretty enough, smart enough, or whatever the "Nots" were that you heard day after day. Didn't you come to believe them over a course of time and eventually accept that as truth?
Now...TODAY...is the time to start your own new set of truths. It begins with a thought...I am...I can...and you grow it from there into a belief and then into your own truth!
Join me in making this a New Year Resolution. I've already started. Are you ready to join me?

New Year Approaches
As the new year approaches I find myself wondering where this one has gone!
It's time to revise the business plan...oh so many things on it I didn't accomplish. Some will be carried forward, but others I have decided are not a direction I want to take and will be replaced by new ones.
The one thing I intend to do in my business life and personal life is to strive to live each day as if it is my last.

Bad Girl
I have been a bad girl in a number of areas, especially blogging. New goal for the coming year...get on a regular schedule!
As for positive...been there on a number of things:
Positive I hate the cold more and more
Positive it has been COLD!
Positive I've enjoyed the holiday season more this year
and heck, I even got out Christmas cards.
All a step in the right direction...LOL

Quote for the Day
"Surround yourself with positive people and situations, and avoid negativity" -Doreen Virtue
This may be difficult during the holiday season with all the family issues that crop up, but keep telling yourself, "This too will pass" since you're only there for a few days. You're an adult now and can handle anything for a short time!

Tips to help with holiday stress
Tis the season for stress. Remember...you can't be there for others if you don't take care of yourself.
Eat right...don't live on junk food. You'll not only put on pounds, but you're not helping your body get the proper nutrients.
Exercise...a proven reliever of stress, plus it improves your attitude with all those endorphins pumping.
Sleep...always needed, but especially this time of year to give your body the chance to recharge.

Thankful!
I try to focus on the things I’m thankful for and that keeps me positive. I feel especially thankful today. Thankful for the love in my life from family and friends. Grateful that my health is as good, if not better than in my twenties and thirties, partially due to taking better care of my body though a better diet and exercise. Delighted with the growing success I’ve had in a career that I always dreamed about, but allowed distractions to push it to the backlist. And especially glad I’ve come to recognize that possessions don’t make a successful life, but that the giving of ones self does.
The calendar tells me this week is Thanksgiving, a day set aside to focus on thankful. But I’ve come to realize that it doesn’t require a special day and I attempt to end each day with a “thank you” for all the things in my life for which I’m grateful, no matter how small, even on the days that I have to search for things to be thankful about.

A Fresh Start
We live in a world of sadness and horror with all the stories constantly fed to us through the various news medias. I don't know about you, but for me it becomes depressing and that has led me to refocus my blog.
Here, the focus will be the positive and allow for the occasional down day since I am human, but the pity parties will be short lived.
So join me in the coming weeks and months to create an environment that picks you up instead of brings you down. This is the initial kick-off introduction and the real fun begins next week. Hope you'll join me.
